That is why Prime Wealth Advisors is pleased to support PORA — the Property Owners and Residents Association of Sun City West.
You may have driven past the PORA office on Camino del Sol, visited the Visitors Center, stopped into the del Sol Gallery, picked up community information, or seen PORA involved in an issue affecting Sun City West. But there is an important reason the organization exists in the first place.
Why Does Sun City West Have PORA?
Sun City West is an unincorporated community. That means it does not have its own city government, mayor or municipal staff to address community needs in the way an incorporated city would.
PORA has served Sun City West since 1979 and describes itself as a quasi-governmental organization that helps communicate the community’s needs and works with Maricopa County, state and federal officials on issues affecting residents. PORA also describes itself as the primary liaison between the unincorporated community and multiple levels of government.
Over the years, that work has included issues involving utilities, water, transportation, zoning and development. PORA’s history also includes helping establish organizations that later became independent, including the Sun City West Foundation, Helping Hands and PRIDES.

What Does PORA Do for Sun City West Today?
Advocacy remains an important part of PORA, but its role in the community extends beyond government issues.
PORA provides information and assistance to residents, educational programs, vendor resources, meetings and events, a Visitors Center and other community services. Its current website describes its mission around three broad ideas: advocacy, education and community support.
Its Community Resource Guide is another example. The guide provides residents with information about PORA and other organizations throughout Sun City West. Copies are distributed through locations including recreation centers, the Sun City West Foundation, PORA’s office and Visitors Center, local businesses and community events, with a digital version available online.

What Is the del Sol Gallery?
One of the things we particularly like about PORA is that community support takes many different forms.
The del Sol Gallery, located at PORA, showcases artwork and handcrafted pieces created by Sun City West residents. PORA says what makes the gallery special is that all of the artisans featured there are residents of Sun City West.
The gallery opened in 2022 and has featured everything from paintings and metalwork to jewelry, pottery and other handcrafted pieces. It has also hosted events that give residents opportunities to meet local artists and learn more about their work.
It is a relatively small example of something we think matters: a community supporting the talents, interests and contributions of the people who actually live there.

For us, the answer is straightforward.
Prime Wealth Advisors believes in supporting the community where we live and work.
